Learn how to Pole Dance - with the Best Team Of Instructors

Zara Groves – Owner/Senior Instructor

I have been in the fitness industry for over 15 years and 7 years ago I saw that Pole Dancing was the latest fitness craze, so I ordered a pole from America and a Fawnia Mondey and Pantera’s 101 pole tricks DVD’s which got me started.  I then met the wonderful Harmony Rose who was an amazing pole dancer, so with my Fitness background and her pole knowledge we started Pole Dancing lessons.  I have never looked back.

I am constantly training and re-training myself to make sure that I am always at the top of my game. I have numerous fitness qualifications under my belt and I regularly go to fitness conventions and attend most Pole Dancing events and competitions. I perform continuously and have performed at huge events such as Glastonbury and Wakestock. I have been interviewed by Radio 1 Shropshire regarding pole dancing and have been filmed on the documentary Hotel Stephanie pole dancing. I regularly raise money for charity through pole dancing events and have done all sorts of gigs from summer fetes to once even pole dancing at a shopping mall in Chester.

I met Zara in 2007, when I was modelling and wanted to do some Pole Dancing for fitness.  I had not long had my baby girl and wanted to get my body back to its pre-baby shape.  I originally booked in for a condensed course and was hooked.  I had never been really that interested in fitness before but was instantly loved with Pole Dancing as it was so different to the normal type of fitness classes and certainly beat running on a treadmill.

I have performed with Sharp Shooters at lots of events and in 2010 performed at Wakestock festival which was amazing.  I couldn’t wait to start the teacher training course and became a fully qualified Pole Dancing Instructor in January 2010 – what better than to do what you love as a job!

I started pole dancing with Sharp Shooters in 2007. and I am so glad that I did.  I have been an avid horserider for years and always thought that I was fit, but once I started Pole Dancing I have become an even fitter and stronger person.  I now feel full of confidence in myself and on the pole. Sharp Shooters is fantastic for making friends and along the way I have met some great people who I am now great friends with. Great training buddies!

All my training paid off as my first ever event I was asked to Pole Dance with as part of the Sharp Shooters team was Glastonbury 2009 – what a huge event to start out with I performed with Sonia, Zara and Harmony.  We performed on the Hub and in the Snake pit and Base line circus.  Since that first performance I have performed at lots of other gigs and then was asked back to perform at Glastonury’s 40th Anniversary in 2010.  I then entered in the first north Wales pole dancing competition and came 1st in the advanced category.

I have now taken my training and performing further, became a fully qualified instructor in May 2010 and am now teaching in two venues Frenzi in Wrexham and theclub @ Hoole hall in Chester.

Tracy Brown - Instructor

My name is Tracy and I live in Shrewsbury.  I work on a stud farm/show jumping yard and have been involved with horses since I was 11 years old.  All my spare time is spent with my son looking after our own 4 horses.  I started Pole Dancing lessons with Sharp Shooters as another way of keeping fit and enjoyed it so much I am now taking part in shows and competitions.  I became a fully qualified Pole Dancing instructor and started teaching in July 2010.  I am really loving the lessons and have met some great people doing so.

I love all kinds of dance and Music. I studied a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts, completed in 2007 which gave me experience in lots of different styles of dance. I'm currently finishing my last year of a business course at University. I started Pole Dancing initially to lose weight in 2008 after having my baby and quite soon I was addicted.  In August 2010 I finished my teacher training course so I am now a fully qualified instructor.  I am also now getting ready for all the Pole Dancing competitions and many upcoming performances and shows.
